One of the most precious gifts we can give to ourselves is the act of forgiveness to others and to us. Sometimes we have to experience difficulties in order to grow. Holding a distaste or grudges for the people involved in the situation, blaming them for our suffering only makes us sad and bitter. It’s understandable that we need to heal, so during that period of time we may experience discomfort, pain, anger and other negative emotions. But don’t stay there for long! Accept any responsibility you may had and move on.
Letting go is an act of self care, once you decide to forgive, things just shift for the better, the quality of life just improves. Sadly some of the people that hurt us will never understand how much pain they’ve caused, sometimes we’ll have to forgive them without even receiving an apology. But the mere act of letting them go opens the door to Freedom for us, and life it’s beautiful in the other side!
I recently came to the realization that I had huge limiting believes that were blocking me to succeed in life and I’ve been holding to them since my childhood. So I made a list of the things that hurt me in the past. I also listed all the beautiful things that happened because of that hurt and realized that the pain was necessary for growth. Once I figured this out, I decided to forgive myself and others related to this trauma, I instantly felt like a huge weight that I’ve been carrying around for years lifted off my shoulders.
